NYPD's stop and frisk policy

The "stop and frisk" policy is basically racial profiling as the study done before has showed and now audio proof of NYPD officers harassing and threatening a teen all because he looked back at them. Make sure to read the whole story and watch the video below. Share this video with others and make everyone aware that this "stop and frisk" policy needs to go away now.

This is terrible! I don't agree with the stop and frisk. I think officers should have a reason to frisk you and not just because you look suspicious.

I am in total shock and quite speechless. Maybe I’m oblivious to racism today but being stopped and frisked just because you look “suspicious” or because you looked at a cop wrong?? That’s just sad. It makes me wonder; don’t the cops in NYPD have crime to fight? It made me furious to see that cops are so crooked and these are people who are supposed to fighting for OUR justice and OUR safety. What made me extra livid was there was a cop with a protecting identity that said that the head of the police department told to do “go out and violate some rights”. Really? This makes me feel disgusted! Our founding fathers would turn in their graves!

Wow! Very powerful video. This is the first time I have seen the perspective of the police officers. What they are doing is wrong, more awareness should be made about this. Hopefully the stop and frisk procedure will be stopped.

After watching this video, I felt horrible for the young latino teen who was interrogated and called racial names such as "mutt" just because he look at two officers suspicious. I don't agree with the stop and frisk operation due to all the pressure cops in order to make their monthly quota. I think officers should have no right to frisk just because they look suspicious. This happens everyday but the media covers up these unjust act. Instead of officer acting like a hero and protecting the city they are hunting them down just because selfish reasons.

White men hate men from other races, that hatred is even more pronounced if the man is of a different culture too. White man killed Jews in gas chambers, white man wiped out the native americans, white man looted India for 200 years, white man held black people as slaves for 400 years. In spite of all this the media (which is dominated by whites) subtly portrays them as docile and anyone different from them as low life. If aliens ever visit earth, and run the media, whites will become the new blacks.

I feel as if the NYPD does have a quota about stop, question, and frisk (250s) because it is all a numbers game. I am from Ney Jersey and everytime I go to NY I have to watch out who I am with because 250s are bascially police officers racially profiling people just by their looks. In NY there are a lot of people wearing baggy jeans, showing their underwear with big shirts both black and white. These people are the ones who mostly get stopped but what shows in this video is insane. I understand if someone looks suspicious but if they were just stopped 2 blocks before, i find no need to take action like these cops did to Alvin. There is racial profiling going on everyday but this is on a totally different level to the point where these cops were going to arrest Alvin for being a 'mutt'. I am discussed by this video and i hope to never go through that whenever I am in NY.

Watching this video I was completely mesmerized at the level at which this is happening. I had an idea that cops had quotas for things such as speeding/traffic/parking tickets but i never knew that they would be told to meet a quota on how many innocent people they stop on the street. It's completely racist. One can clearly see from the statistics the video was showing that the NYPD is targetting people of color and minorities.

Coming from another country, I find it very appalling that people in the "greatest nation" of all time are still grappling with racism issues. It is one thing to enforce laws to protect all citizens from real criminals, however, it is a downright shame that blacks especially are targeted and put in a certain category and subjected to demeaning searches simply based on nothing else but the color of their skin. It is incomprehensible that orders to frisk young men come from the very top. Therefore, it should not be strange that the cops take it to the next level because interpretation of such orders is left to the individual cop. This video gives us sufficient proof that racism and stereotyping are still being fuelled from the offices of white collared officials. This is not just a NY or NJ issue. It is a countrywide issue that is like a lab created disease that has no cure.

This video really touched me because I have family friends that are police offers and they tell me all the time that their whole system is corrupt and unfair towards mainly African-American teenagers and it's not fair. The video was very well-made and had a powerful message. I also feel bad for the police officers because they have no control over it, they're doing the job. At the end of the day, Police officers have to follow the rules to keep the cities safe but they need a new system because right now, it's just not working fairly.

The way the cops acted against a 17 year old innocent boy was literally disgusting. IT's complete racial profiling, harassment and racism, all combined into one. I can't believe that the government in NYC would allow such a thing, and they're not even trying to do anything to stop it, as they stand behind the Stop and Frisk Policy.

They should get a lawyer who will do this pro bono and send as many law suits against the police department as they can. This should attract media attention, which in turn means the government of NYC will have to act and fix the situation. It's absolutely absurd to allow something this racist to continue.

This is really concerning because nobody seems to have an option about it niether the officers or the civilians. The NYPD is forcing the polices to harrass innocent people, and the innocent people don't have any option but to do nothing about it, since the police is a major authority. The system in which the police is manage has to changed, no more quotas should be allow and NYPD should be inspect on its actions.

It saddens me deeply, to see that there are so many ignorant people in our society and that we have yet to let go of racism. NYPD should be focusing on real crime and not be biased, they of all people should stop being so corrupt and actually be doing their job which is keeping society safe. As much as it bothers me, it does not surprise me at all, our society has so much progess do and it is because of these types of people, corruption and lack of education that we seem to continue to be sutck in this trail of hatred.

I feel like this is a invasion of our basic human rights. This is completely out of line. Police should need a reason to frisk you. Frisking could be a traumatic and embarrassing experience. Some may even consider it assault.

luis lopez said...

in my opinion the stop and frisk is just an easy excuse for officers to profile anyone they think is doing something shady.

Shelby Bowden said...

I think that it is awful that police have the power to stop someone off the street and frisk them. I believe that this would be not only an embarrassing and traumatic event. It is wrong, and it steps on our basic civil rights. Looking suspicious is not a good enough reason to violate someone's personal space.

I have seen situations first hand where people are stopped because of their race or color. This video is basically proof of how some officers take advantage of people are uneducated about their rights. This stop and frisk policy just sounds very wrong from the beginning and i cannot believe that it is in effect in such a diverse place such as New York.

I am not surprised nor shocked that racial profiling still exists till this day. I am moreso disappointed and looking for a change to come along. The Stop and frisk policy is just giving officials to the OK to harass citizens who may or may not look suspicious. This policy needs to be revoked and citizens deserve justice and to feel safe by police officers not threatened. This act is disgusting to the point where my stomach turns to the thought of a lieutenant and/or mayor giving orders to a police department to "violate some rights" Something needs to be done about this policy and soon!

Omar Linton said...

This video is very upsetting. We as a people need to stand up for our rights. Many of the officers in the video want to do right by the people but supervisors and those above them are setting the rules.

Wow, the video of the NYPD stop and frisk policy made me feel disappointed and disgusted. I mean it is okay to stop and ask the person to look in their book bag, but if their clean then the police need to move onto other people who are actually doing something wrong. I can almost guarantee if that was a Caucasian male walking down the street dressed the same way the police would have probably kept on driving. If they did stop, the conversation would have been completely different and there would not have been any physical encounter. I’m glad he recorded it because nobody would have believed him and it would not bring attention to the public. I thought the police officer was brave for speaking out, I can’t imagine my boss telling me to go out and stop people who happen to look “suspicious” just so they can be promoted to a higher rank. I know racism exits everywhere but it needs to stop immediately because if there isn’t any action taken it’s going to continue turning people against each other, increasing unnecessary violence.

There's a program of White genocide being carried out today by a globalist elite that sees White people as a threat to global government. White people have too many resources, are too well armed, and are too independent minded to accept a global system of sharing (with the globalist elites from the Bilderberg group in charge of it all). So a system of forced blending was implemented that will do away with the troublesome white masses. This is how it works.
1) Immigrants from the “developing world” are flooded into the West.
2) These immigrants and any national minorities are then forced integrated with the White populations, communities, and institutions. This is made law by removing freedom of association, creating affirmative action and requiring racial quotas. Whites who wish to move from these dangerous, integrated communities are forced to live in expensive suburban or exurban areas (which will be forced integrated over time anyway) which makes having large families difficult. Anyone who objects to this is denied economic opportunities, status, and in some cases freedom itself.
3) An information campaign is implemented which demonizes Western culture and history. The old myths that helped form the identities of the West are replaced with new mythologies that make Whites into enemies of humanity and non-whites (like MLK) as morally superior heroes. People who oppose mass immigration and forced integration are portrayed as mentally ill, evil, and lacking positive human qualities. Miscegenation is encouraged and glorified. The people of the West are constantly reminded of the inevitable brown future and that anything short of celebrating this makes you a naziwhowantstokillsixmillionjews.
This system leads to the end of the White-European people. I would argue that genocide is worse than racism?

White people stand united. All other races fight among themselves. Whites know that and take advantage of that.

Ok I am a 22 year old white male. And I need to say a few things that have been bothering me for quite some time now. 1 I am so tired of all the racism that I see everyday and how everyone is so quick to play the race card at everything. We all want to be treated the same so we say. But as long as there is still someone saying oh that white cop pulled me over and wrote me a ticket for speeding or whatever there will always be racism. If we want it to stop than everyone needs to stop saying anything about it and there you go it is gone. But when someone doesn't get their way it is brought up to me it is an excuse.

Anonymous said...

I also hate that there is a double standard. Why can white men not say anything is racist at all ever? There is nothing that could happen to a white male that could be racist? I find that hard to believe, so that black cop that wrote me a ticket didn't write me that ticket just because I am white, like that white officer did to the black man? And also to everyone who thinks there still is racism, there is! Example, if there is a job opening and a white man applies and so does a black man, they have the excat same credentials who is going to get the job? The black male is going to get the job 100 times out of 100 times. The reason is because if they were to give the job to the white male someone might say they are a racist company because their credentials were the same. But when the black man gets the job over the white guy he can't say that they are racist against him why? Why doesn't it work both ways?

Funny how almost nobody on this blog has been a victim of racism but watch the video and suddenly understand wat racism is. Not justifying this video but rewind the clock and watch videos a hundred years ago and ull see HARD racism. There's always gona b bad guys even on the police force wat do want to do than get rid of the police. Go thru the eyes of a police officer stationed in LA and see wat they go thru. I no cause my step dad was an amazing officer who was friendly to everyone until he got shot 3 times in the head cause he turned his back on a meth head. When u use the bathroom wat does it say on the door men or women not white onlys. When u go on the bus r u told where to sit? No. Racism has been around for hundreds of years its not gona jus go away. All these videos do is add to the hatred. Ur nit helping by pointing fingers!

Anonymous said...

I agree. Its gona change to where white people can't say anything or do anything with out being accused. I mean for god sakes if u go home and eat a meal and watch tv we shud all b thankful for that cause there's people who don't have homes or food or tv.

I thot we wanted equality but Its crazy cause if everybody stops and looks around there's white men working for black men and Koreans working with Mexicans and women working wit men.

It wont stop even if everyone was equal cause the word racist will always b around to use. It is equal actually.

Does anybody say anything about opra being the first women billionaire or our president the first african american even tho he is half white also. Dozens of althelets in almost every sport.

White men , have devised a fool proof system where they make sure every race but their own stays divided. Their control over the media is one of their most powerful tools in making sure its stays this way.
