NYPD's stop and frisk policy

The "stop and frisk" policy is basically racial profiling as the study done before has showed and now audio proof of NYPD officers harassing and threatening a teen all because he looked back at them. Make sure to read the whole story and watch the video below. Share this video with others and make everyone aware that this "stop and frisk" policy needs to go away now.

Minority students at University of Texas targeted

Minority students that are walking near the West Campus apartments of University of Texas at Austin are being targeted with bleach ballons being dropped from above and trying to hit the students. This apparently has been happening since June.

The University of Texas in Austin is reeling from reports of black and Asian students seemingly being targeted and hit with bleach-filled balloons while off campus.

Dozens of students, alumni and faculty protested the attacks on campus Tuesday, after four students filed reports with the UT police department Monday saying they had been targeted.

Each of the students reported being hit while walking near West Campus apartments, a location that is off UT's campus, according to Cindy Posey, public information officer for the UT police department.

The incidents occurred from June through September, but students only came forward to report the attacks after being contacted by the UT police chief, Posey said.

The targets in all of the attacks are students of color who say the bleach balloons fell from high-rise buildings toward them.

"It's very frustrating to know that it's 2012 and that stuff like this still happens," UT student Jaysen Runnels told ABC News affiliate KVUE-TV.

The African-American student said he had been hit twice by "bleach bombs" on two separate occasions in the area known as West Campus.

"A bleach bomb fell and hit me, my roommate," said Runnels, who is among the students who filed a police report. "Well, almost hit us. It barely missed us."

Victoria's Secret Geisha Lingerie pulled after some thought it was racist

What do you think? Do you think the way the lingerie was being advertised was racist? Make sure to read the whole article and the original blog posts in the quoted article below.

It all started here. "I saw a link to [Victoria's Secret's Go East] line on the blog, Angry Asian Man," she says.

"Hooray for exotic orientalist bull----," wrote the blogger who included a link to the "Asian-inspired" lingerie line's centerpiece: "The Sexy Little Geisha," a mesh teddy that comes with an obi belt, chopsticks and a fan.

Immediately Jacinto sat down to write an insightful post on why she found the outfit, and the line in general, offensive. "It's the kind of overt racism masked behind claims of inspired fashion and exploring sexual fantasy that makes my skin crawl," she wrote in article published September 6 on the blog Racialicious, a site for commentary on the intersection of culture and race.

"There's a long-standing trend to represent Asian women as hypersexualized objects of fantasy," wrote Jacinto. She also took umbrage with the lingerie description as "your ticket to an exotic adventure" and the fact that none of the models for the collection were of Asian descent.

Jacinto, meanwhile, has gotten a lot of responses from commenters questioning why she cares so much about some bras and underwear. "It's important that companies like VS know that capitalizing on a stereotype and on a culture is tasteless and offensive," she explains. "The messaging we insert in our culture shapes people's attitudes—so questioning clothing like this is important."

White man beaten because he's dating a black woman

At Ellis Square, in Savannah, Georgia a white man was jumped by a group of black men and beat up because his girlfriend, who he was with at the time, is African American.

A Georgia man was left bloodied and bruised after he was brutally attacked for dating an African-American girl.

The interracial couple were strolling through Ellis Square, a public space in Savannah, shortly before midnight last Friday, when they say three black men began taunting them.

The provocation began as racial slurs, then the scoffers started blowing kisses and suddenly the trio jumped the boyfriend, Andrew Quade - who is white, beating him and leaving him barely conscious.

The violent response to the mixed-race romance has left the couple in shock that such vicious intolerance still exists.

'This shouldn't happen in this day in age. I know we're in the South and all that, but it's time for a change,' the girlfriend, Olufisayo Bakre, told WTOC-TV news.

The couple say they were simply minding their own business as they walked through the Savannah spot, one of the busiest squares in the historic downtown, known for being the epitome of Southern charm.

Then the group targeted the couple.

'One of them was making racial comments at us and one of the them was blowing kisses. It was a very aggravating situation to be in,' Bakre explained.

Puerto Rico official posts racist tweets on Twitter

A Puerto Rico official posted some racist remarks on Twitter about US President Obama and his wife.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) - An adviser to Puerto Rico’s most powerful female lawmaker faced calls to resign on Wednesday after she sent a tweet to President Barack Obama urging him to buy the first lady a double-banana sundae and take her to Kenya.

Heidi Wys sent the tweet last week shortly after Obama tweeted that Michelle Obama’s birthday was coming up.

“Who cares?” Wys wrote in response. “Take her to Burger King, buy her a sundae with double banana, take her to your homeland, Kenya!”

That tweet and several other tweets Wys sent earlier about Obama were still publicly visible on her Twitter account Wednesday afternoon.

Wys is the main adviser to House of Representatives President Jenniffer Gonzalez and has earned $630,000 since 2008 for her services as an administrative consultant, according to records with the Comptroller’s Office.

Several legislators are demanding that Wys step down or that Gonzalez ask for her resignation.

Florida man shoots another man and uses racial slur

A Florida man shot another man and when he told police what he did, he used a racial slur and seems to think it was ok. This is crazy. He is crazy.

A Florida man charged with attempted murder and hate crime for allegedly shooting an African American man in the head expressed disbelief over his arrest, telling officers that he "only shot a n*****."

The Port St. Joe Star reports that Walton Henry Butler, 59, of Port St. Joe shot 32-year-old Everett Gant, who is black, in the head with a .22 rifle on Monday night. Gant had confronted Butler about an incident in which the latter used a racial slur to describe a child living in their apartment complex.

According to investigators, Butler had been calling other children in the complex racist names in recent days. When a friend of Gant's told him about what had happened, he went over to Butler's apartment to confront him about his racist actions.

Instead of conversation, Gant got a bullet between his eyes. Butler shut his door and left his victim lying on the ground bleeding. He then called 911, finished cooking dinner and sat down to eat.

WJHG reports that when Gulf County Sheriff Joe Nugent arrived at the scene of the shooting, Butler acted as if he were being inconvenienced.

"He was brought to the investigative unit where he was interviewed and basically admitted to shooting the victim and said he shot a, just used a racial slur, and said that is what he shot and acted like it was no big deal or anything to him," Nugent told WJHG.

Gant is in guarded condition at Bay Medical Center and expected to survive.

Butler is locked up in Gulf County Jail.

Motel 6 racial slur on motel TV

A man checked into a Motel 6, turned on the TV and gets a welcome message with a racial slur. What is going on? Why? Why do this?

Joseph Ross, a Dayton, Ohio, resident, got an unwelcome "welcome" this weekend when he checked into a Motel 6 in the nearby town of Sharonville, where he planned to attend a jazz festival. Ross told WCPO that he switched on the television in his room only to be greeted with an on-screen racial slur: "Hello N*****!" "I turned the TV on and when I laid back on the bed I just happened to see something on the screen and I was like, 'Ah, that ain't there, so then I focused my eyes and I couldn't believe what was on there,'" he told WCPO in Cincinnati.

Ross complained to Motel 6's corporate office and reached out to the president of the Dayton chapter of the NAACP, who confirmed the on-screen slur to WCPO.

On its website, the Cincinnati NAACP said that the Dayton chapter "independently called the location to ask if the Motel 6 had on their TV broadcast 'Hello N******.' The person who answered the phone confirmed the information was true but provided no explanation or clarity of why." Source
After searching Google about this story, it looks like a Motel 6 in Danvers, Massachusetts has also done something very similar. See this photo. I've never stayed at a Motel 6 and this just confirms that I do not need to, ever.

Black couple not allowed to get married at Mississippi Church

A black couple was told they couldn't get married at a church they attended because they are black. Read the whole story via the link below.

They had booked their wedding far in advance. The invitations had been sent, the programs printed. But one day before Charles and Te'Andrea Wilson were to be married at the Mississippi church they frequented, they said a pastor told them they would have to find another venue -- because they were black.

There has never been a black wedding at the First Baptist Church in Crystal Springs, Miss., since its founding in 1883. According to Pastor Stan Weatherford, some church members objected so strongly to breaking that precedent, they threatened to oust him from his pastorship.

Rather than risk his job, Weatherford, who is white, said he decided to marry the pair at a black church down the road.

"My 9-year-old was going to the church with us. How would you say to your 9-year-old daughter, 'We cannot get married here because, guess what sweetie, we're black,'" Charles Wilson told ABC's affiliate WAPT-TV.

Special needs child gets abused with racial slurs and more

This is just sickening.

This video shows the shocking torment suffered by a 10-year-old boy on his way to school.

For 40 minutes Cequan Haskins was abused by a pair of 15-year-old bullies in May 2011.

They called him names, made sexual and racial slurs and held a scorching cigarette lighter to his skin.

In the chilling footage Cequan can be heard screaming and pleading with the bullies to stop but they are relentless, clambering over seats to get at him.

They are visibly much larger than their victim and he is unable to get away from them as they yell at him to 'sit down and shut your mouth'.

'My son, he was a special needs child and he didn't deserve this. He was entitled to a safe transportation just like any other child in the Appomattox County Public School System.'

Cequan was left with physical and emotional scars in the aftermath of his ordeal, Ms Haskins said.

He continues to suffer from post traumatic stress disorder and has undergone hours of therapy.

Both of the teens involved were found guilty of disorderly conduct, assault and battery.

Ms Haskins has launched a civil case against the Appomattox County School Board and is awaiting a trial date.

Man lies and says he was attacked

A man injured himself while skateboarding and decided to tell police officers that his injuries came from "three to five black men."

Massive outrage across Miami followed the news of Rene Betancourt Jr.'s brutal beating at the hands of 'three to five black men.'

The 22-year-old college student suffered a fractured skull, a broken nose and underwent two brain surgeries as police searched for his assailants, with people donating hundreds of dollars to his recovery.

But surveillance video from the scene of the incident showed that Mr Betancourt wasn't attacked – he smacked into a wall while skating in a parking garage – and he may face charges for fibbing.

He told officers that several black men jumped him, stealing his wallet, and he woke up alone on the floor.

He managed to drive himself to Jackson Memorial Hospital, but was too woozy to get out a car.

'He received several blows on the head from what we believe was a very strong, heavy object. He had so many cracks in his skull that the surgeon didn’t even count,'

said Daniela Herdocia, Betancourt’s sister, at the time to Local10.

Band uses racial slur in song

The band Faith No More thought it was ok to perform the hit song "N..... in Paris" by Jay-Z and Kanye West and say the "N" word, which is in the lyrics. I don't get it, why not just don't say it?

Another day, another white person drops the N-bomb and will inevitably cop pleas and say something like, "Hey, it's just the lyrics, okay?" California rock band Faith No More deemed it necessary to cover Jay-Z and Kanye West's hit single "Ni**as In Paris." So while reciting Kanye West's verse--they've been doing so while on tour in Europe--lead singer Mike Patton evidently saw it essential to recite the "What's Gucci my ni**a" lyrics without bothering to edit himself.

We can argue until we're blue in the face about why this is a faux pas, but inevitably the factions will split between "Don't use the word ever, white people" and "Hey's it's just a song, what's the big deal?" You would think that the general controversy that arises in all previous examples, most recently actress and Jay-Z bff Gwyneth Paltrow's "'Ni**as In Paris' for real" tweet, that we wouldn't have to bring this issue up again, and again, and again.

Wells Fargo caught with discriminatory lending practices

Wells Fargo will have to pay a whole lot for their discriminatory lending practices. Hopefully others will be caught too.

Wells Fargo Bank will have to fork out $175 million for allegedly engaging in discriminatory lending practices from 2004 through 2009, following a Justice Department announcement, Crain’s reported. The country’s largest residential mortgage lender is accused of a pattern of prejudicial practices that forced 34,000 African-American and Hispanic borrowers across 36 states and the District of Columbia to pay higher rates for loans simply because of their race, according to Deputy Attorney General James Cole.

The settlement is the second largest of its kind in U.S. history, with the bank paying $125 million in compensation to minority borrowers who were directed to subprime mortgages, or made to pay higher fees and rates than white borrowers with equally sound credit. Wells Fargo will pay an additional $50 million in down payment assistance to borrowers in areas the Justice Department has identified as having a large number of discrimination victims, including Washington, D.C., Chicago, Philadelphia, Oakland and San Francisco, New York City, Cleveland and Baltimore.

Man kicked out of bar because of his race

A 21-year old Harvard-bound student was kicked out of a Raleigh, NC sports bar named Downtown Sports Bar and Grill because he was black and a police officer did basically nothing to help as it's been done many times before there. Make sure to read the entire article via the link below.

After a Harvard-bound 21-year-old said police refused to help him when he was kicked out of a Raleigh, NC sports bar for being black, other spurned patrons came out of the woodwork to claim they had received the same racist treatment. Now their grassroots campaign to shut the bar down is gaining traction. Who needs the cops when you've got social media on your side?

Last Saturday, June 16th, Wall and two other friends arrived at Downtown Sports Bar and Grill around 12:30 AM. "You need a membership to come in tonight," the bouncer told them. "I've never seen you here before." The friends were confused, since the bar is better known for its all-you-can-eat wings and massive TVs than fancy private parties — and because the people in line before them walked right in after showing their ID.

The only difference between those people and my friends and I was our race. Still, we stood at the door in bewilderment asking "What?" as he further tried to explain that we weren't going to be able to come in because of our "non-member" status. However, as he was explaining this, a police officer walked up to where he was standing to tell him something unrelated. As soon as he caught sight of the officer beside him, he said "Never mind, y'all go ahead." This was the first interesting ordeal of the night, but not the last.
After he cleaned the table, it looked as if he was headed back behind the bar when he came up to me and said "Either buy a drink or leave right now." Again shocked, I replied "I'm just waiting for my friend to come back from the bathroom." He responded, "I don't care, get a drink or leave right now." I said "Okay" and began texting. He walked away from me, then went and sat with his back to the bar as he stared me down. Being non-confrontational, I looked towards the bathroom, waiting to see my friend come out so that we could leave. I also took notice of how many of the people surrounding the bar and the club area didn't have drinks in their hands. I felt as if I was singled out. The common denominator, again, was that I was the only black person around. After staring me down for about 30 seconds, he walked back over and said "Are you going to buy a drink, or are you going to leave?" I replied, "As soon as my friend comes from the bathroom." Before I cold utter another word, he grabbed my right wrist and my left arm and threw them behind my head in an effort to constrain me, although I was speaking to him a calm and non-aggressive tone and didn't once even gesture. He then used excessive force to push me through the crown and out of the club while I was still in this "headlock" of sorts, before pushing me out of the front door. As soon as he grabbed me, I let my body go limp because with the degree of force he was already using, I didn't want him to think I was trying to fight back. I accepted that he was on an ego-trip, and let him guide me through the club in this position before pushing me out. I was completely shocked and more saddened that this was happening than angry.

After Wall told his family about his night, his 21-year-old cousin called him and asked the name of the bar that had thrown him out. She gasped when he told her it was Downtown Sports Bar and Grill, because she had been barred from entering the same spot earlier that night. "The only common denominator in her and my own dealings with the bar was one single factor: race," Wall wrote. "We were both African-Americans trying to enter and enjoy a bar that seemed to only welcome those not like us."

It's 2012 and stuff like this still happens.

Adidas pulls sneakers after claims of racism

Adidas is pulling their new sneakers, JS Roundhouse Mid, after claims that it is racist because of the shackle-like ankle cuff. Read the whole story via the link below.

(CNN) -- German sports apparel maker Adidas has withdrawn its plans to sell a controversial sneaker featuring affixed rubber shackles after the company generated significant criticism when advertising the shoe on its Facebook page.

The high-top sneakers, dubbed the JS Roundhouse Mids, were expected to be released in August, according to the Adidas Originals Facebook page. "Got a sneaker game so hot you lock your kicks to your ankles?" a caption below a photo of the sneakers read.

After creating an online uproar, Adidas has announced it is canceling plans to sell the instantly controversial JS Roundhouse Mid – a basketball sneaker destined to forever be known as the "shackle shoe."

The shoe – which contains a shackle-like ankle cuff -- created an uproar after Adidas posted images to its Facebook page Monday. Critics said it invoked slavery.

In announcing it was withdrawing plans to offer the shoe to retailers, the company defended the JS Roundhouse Mid as "nothing more than the designer Jeremy Scott's outrageous and unique take on fashion and has nothing to do with slavery," but nonetheless apologized for offending consumers.

The designer, meanwhile, says the inspiration for the shoes was a cartoon character and toy from the 1990s called My Pet Monster, which is purple and blue and is restrained by orange shackles.

Jesse Jackson was interviewed on CNN about these Adidas sneakers.

Racially offensive show on local government channel

A commenter made us aware of a local government channel in the city of LaGrange, GA that televises a show where a white woman dresses up as an African caricature called "Mama Jama" and many have found it racially offensive. Click the link below to read more and sign the petition.

It's not okay to reduce an entire culture or ethnicity to a silly caricature -- and that's exactly what Troup County School Board member Debbie Burdette does when she dresses up as an African caricature called "Mama Jama." Burdette uses this character to promote child literacy -- a noble endeavor, for sure. However, many find it racially offensive when Burdette, a white woman, dresses in traditional African clothing to play the "Mama Jama" character. Burdette says that the costume gets the attention of children, but surely she can come up with a costume that is sensitive to multicultural issues. This petition asks the City of LaGrange to remove the "Mama Jama" show from LGTV, the local government channel. Please click on the Petition Letter tab above for more details.

Is Stop and Frisk really just racial profiling?

What do you think about the "stop and frisk" program? Is it really just a way to racial profile someone? Does it really help stop criminals? Yvette Clarke is trying to end that program.

NEW YORK – Elected officials charging racism are trying to end a New York City police policy that permits officers to stop someone and pat him down for weapons or contraband if they suspect criminal activity.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg says the program is preventing crime. Opponents say it overwhelmingly targets racial minorities.

Rep. Yvette Clarke, a Democrat from Brooklyn, met Thursday with Justice Department officials to request an investigation of the practice.

Clarke says the program, known as "Stop, Question and Frisk" or "Stop and Frisk," amounts to racial profiling. It is based on a 1968 Supreme Court ruling that police could stop people on the basis of "reasonable suspicion."

Last month, U.S. District Court Judge Shira Scheindlin approved class action status for a lawsuit that alleges the practice subjects people to race-based illegal searches.

The NAACP, Al Sharpton's National Action Network and the Service Employees International Union are planning a protest rally June 17 in New York.

A study by the New York Civil Liberties Union found a sharp increase in the number of people stopped under the program: up more than 600% from 97,296 in 2002 to 685,724 last year. The study said 90% of those stopped were neither arrested nor ticketed, and about 87% were black or Hispanic.

Bloomberg said at a press conference May 16 Stop and Frisk has taken 6,000 guns off city streets in the past eight years and has saved the lives of 5,600 people over the past decade.

Councilman Jumaane Williams, said the program is a failure in stemming gun violence. Police found one gun for every 3,000 people stopped, he said.

"The policy is either accidentally, incidentally or purposely racist, however you slice it," he said.

Racist subway rider gets prison time

A woman is getting five months in prison for her racist drunk tirade on a subway. It will probably be lowered but at least she is getting something.

Jacqueline Woodhouse, whose drunk and racist tirade on a subway went viral on YouTube, has been sentenced to five months in prison.

The 42-year-old woman pleaded guilty "to causing alarm and distress" earlier this month for the Jan. 23 incident. She was sentenced Tuesday to 21 weeks behind bars, though she can be released in as little as 10 weeks, The Daily Mail reported. The sentence also includes a five-year public transportation ban while Woodhouse is inebriated.

This isn't the first time Woodhouse has been in trouble with the law for public racism. In December 2008, she was fined for harassing a man on the train over whether or not he had paid taxes.

Houston cop acquitted of beating teen with clear video evidence

Remember this ugly disgusting scene of excessive force? The video is right there. Cops beating on a suspect, Chad Holley, after he was down on the ground and surrendered. And somehow this police officer, Andrew Blomberg, was acquitted of beating Mr. Holley, with an all white jury. The video clearly shows at least two out-of-control cops, one kicking repeatably throughout the video, is that Blomberg? And another cop punching away on Holley. Read the whole article via the link below.

Black community leaders in Houston, Texas, are alleging racism after an all-white jury acquitted a white police officer of beating a black teen.

The beating of 15-year-old Chad Holley in 2010 was caught on tape and outraged the black community. Holley, now 18, was fleeing from a burglary, though the video shows him put his hands behind his back as officers surround him and kick him.

Andrew Blomberg, 29, was the first of four police officers to stand trial for their roles in a beating that prompted fierce public criticism of the police department by community activists who called it another example of police brutality against minorities.

'It is pathetic. It is unacceptable,' the Rev James Dixon of the Community of Faith Church said of the jury's decision.

'This kind of expression says to me, to my children and to every black child in the city, "Your life is not worth manure."'

Quanell X, the community activist who had released the video of the alleged beating to the media, called the verdict 'wrong' and criticized the lack of blacks or other minorities on the six-person jury.

Asked why there weren't any blacks or minorities on the jury, DeGuerin said most of the African-Americans in the jury pool had already made up their minds that Blomberg was guilty.

UCLA faculty surgeon facing racism

A faculty surgeon at UCLA has been dealing with racism. Make sure to watch the video below.

A respected African American faculty surgeon filed a racial discrimination suit against the UCLA Medical Center and UC Regents. Dr. Christian Head has been intentionally degraded based on his race and UCLA officials have ignored blatant acts of racial discrimination, including an edited photo depicting Dr. Head as a gorilla being sodomized by his supervisor. That alone is offensive. But the fact that the photo was publicly presented for laughs during an annual medical school sponsored event attended by more than 200 physicians, faculty, residents and guests is both shocking and indefensible. Hear what Dr. Head has endured and what UCLA officials continue ignore.

White supremacists arrested in Florida

Ten members of a white supremacist group were arrested in Florida who were planning for a "race war." Read the whole article via the link below.

Ten alleged members of a white supremacist group training near Orlando and Disney World for a "race war" have been rounded up in a series of arrests in central Florida, authorities said on Tuesday.

The arrests were based on evidence from a confidential informant who infiltrated the neo-Nazi organization known as the American Front 17 months ago, according to an arrest affidavit.

"The American Front (AF) is a military-styled, anti-Semitic, white supremacist, skinhead organization and is known as a domestic terrorist organization," the affidavit said.

It said the group's alleged local ringleader, Marcus Faella, 39, had been "planning and preparing the AF for what he believes to be an inevitable race war" and had stated "his intent ... to kill Jews, immigrants and other minorities."

Faella operated a heavily fortified paramilitary training center for the AF on his isolated property in St. Cloud, Florida, 11 miles from the Walt Disney World theme parks, according to the affidavit.

It said he recently had been plotting a disturbance at Orlando City Hall and a confrontation against a rival skinhead group in coastal Melbourne in a bid to garner media attention, but had also been experimenting with the potential manufacture of the biological toxin ricin.

"Faella views himself and the other members of the AF as the protectors of the white race," the affidavit said, adding that Faella also believed "the race war will take place within the next few years based on current world events."

Besides Faella, those arrested were Christopher Brooks, 27, of Palm Bay; Richard Stockdale, 23, of St. Cloud; Kent McLellan, 22, of St. Cloud; Patricia Faella, 36, of St. Cloud; Jennifer McGowan, 25, of Cocoa; Mark McGowan, 29, of Cocoa; Diane Stevens, 28, of Kissimmee; Paul Jackson, 25, of St. Cloud; and Dustin Perry, 21, of Kissimmee.

In addition to the other charges, Brooks and Stockdale were charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to their arrest reports.

A lawyer for Faella and other suspects arrested in the case could not be reached for immediate comment but Marcus and Patricia Faella, who were arrested on Friday, have already been released on a bond totaling $500,000 each.

South African model posts racist tweets

A South African model named Jessica Leandra Dos Santos tweeted a racial slur on Twitter and then tried to defend her tweets and then later apologized on her blog. Apparently this isn't the first time that she has tweeted racial slurs on Twitter either. Read the whole article via the link below.

Jessica Leandra Dos Santos's career as a model and sex kitten could be all but over. The Joburg-born model came under fire for posting a racist tweet on social networking site Twitter. It read: "Just, well took on an arrogant and disrespectful k***** inside Spar. Should have punched him, should have."

After angry responses to her comment, Dos Santos deleted the offending tweet. But it was too late. She has already lost one of her major sponsors and men's magazine FHM has distanced itself from the 20-year-old, saying she would be stripped of her title as FHM model of the year in 2011.

Reacting, Dos Santos posted another tweet: "Would you all stop! These are the kind of people that land up raping young girls in our country. I wasn't going to let him get away with it."

And this is not the first time. Earlier this year she tweeted: “Highlight of my weekend? Almost punching an Engen petrol assistant. No tolerance for rude African monkeys whatsoever!”

By yesterday Twitter was abuzz over her remarks. Although her representatives have remained tight-lipped, Dos Santos took to her blog to post an apology. "I tweeted rather irresponsibly about an incident last night (Thursday), using a harsh word about the gentleman who confronted me with sexual remarks and sounds," said Dos Santos. "Many of you don't know the details of the incident. Please do understand that I was acting in pure anger."

Hate spray painted on cars

Someone spray painted "KKK" onto four cars in a neighborhood. Read the whole article via the link below.

Sunday morning, three families woke up to find racist graffiti spray painted on their cars. The culprits struck sometime overnight on Echo Ridge Place near Brandermill.

A quiet, typical Sunday morning for the Alexanders was ruined. Bryan was putting his kids in the car for church when a police officer unexpectedly told him to check out the back of his brand new mini-van.

"I couldn't believe that it happened," he recalled.

He took snapshots of the hate. "KKK" was spray painted for the world to see.

"In the five years I've been here, we have not had any crime," Bryan explained. "Even the officer he said this is the first time he can ever remember being called into my subdivision."

Sunday morning, that officer was called to investigate the hate-filled graffiti on four cars at three different houses.

What if racism was an illness?

Some think that racism may be an illness. I'm not believing that racism is an illness but I'm also no doctor. Make sure to read the whole article on (link below).

Is racism an illness? Psychiatrists and psychologists are debating the issue. The forthcoming Oxford Handbook of Personality Disorders, due for publication in August 2012, will include a chapter on identifying and assessing pathological bias.

Thinking of any form of racism as an illness is very troubling. Historically, psychiatrists, psychologists, the medical establishment and lay people have all agreed that the roots of racism are cultural or societal — a set of beliefs and behaviors that are learned and, as a result, can be unlearned. If it were to ever be declared an illness that can be treated, racists would no longer be legally or ethically responsible for their actions. Just imagine it: a medical justification for discriminating against, or even killing, those of another race.

Dr. Carl C. Bell, the coauthor of the Oxford University Press chapter and a member of the APA is, nonetheless, convinced that some forms of racism are a mental illness. He notes that many of his colleagues are “concerned about having the conversation about racism and mental illness because, for them, it is akin to medicalizing a social problem.” He thinks there is some validity to those concerns but believes that while “95–98% of racist behavior is socially, culturally or politically determined, there is still a sliver of racist behavior that may be based on psychopathology.”

NY Post writer says Brooklyn Nets should be called a racial slur

New York Post writer Phil Mushnick apparently has never been a fan of Jay-Z and so today he tried attacking him and a community by using stereotypes and a racial slur. Here is what Phil Mushnick wrote in his column:
As long as the Nets are allowing Jay-Z to call their marketing shots — what a shock that he chose black and white as the new team colors to stress, as the Nets explained, their new “urban” home — why not have him apply the full Jay-Z treatment?

Why the Brooklyn Nets when they can be the New York N------s? The cheerleaders could be the Brooklyn B----hes or Hoes. Team logo? A 9 mm with hollow-tip shell casings strewn beneath. Wanna be Jay-Z hip? Then go all the way!
Source posted an update with Phil Mushnick response to the outcry of his column.
Mushnick responded to the furore surrounding his column later on Friday. Writing to sports site Bob's Blitz, he said that there had been "obvious, wishful and ignorant mischaracterizations" of his words.

"Jay-Z profits from the worst and most sustaining self-enslaving stereotypes of black-American culture and I'M the racist?" he continued. "Some truths, I guess, are just hard to read, let alone think about."

Do you think Phil Mushnick will be fired? Obviously he should be fired but will he get fired is the question.

Georgia bar owner posts racist sign

A bar owner in Georgia named Patrick Lanzo, is using freedom of speech to express his racist opinion on a sign outside his bar that refers to the President with a racial slur. He posted: "I do not support the n***** in the White House." Apparently this isn't the first time that he has posted racial slurs on his sign either. And the guy says he is not racist. Yea ok, sure you're not. Source

White people need to read this

Everyone All white people should read the article "Dear White Folks: You Don't Know How Easy You Have It" by David J. Leonard on Make sure to visit the site, link below, and read the whole article.

I have heard that “we are all Trayvon Martin” over the last few weeks, yet we are not Trayvon Martin – and we never could be. White America is never suspicious. White America can walk to the store without fear of being hunted down. White America can count on justice and a nation grieving at the loss of White life. We aren't Trayvon Martin, we are George Zimmerman: presumed innocent until proven innocent.

I want you to close your eyes for a second, and imagine that your son or daughter, sister or brother, granddaughter or grandson, ventured to the corner store for some Skittles and tea but never returned? Can you imagine if Peter or Jan were gunned down right around the corner from your house and the police didn’t notify you right away? Can you imagine if little Sydney or Bobby sat in the morgue for days as you searched to find out what happened them? Can you even imagine the police letting the perpetrator go or the news media remaining silent? Can you even fathom learning about background and drug tests on your child? Can you imagine the news media demonizing your child, blaming your child for his own death?

Can you imagine the outcry if seven White youths had been gunned down by police and security guards in a matter of months? Can you imagine the extensive political interest, the media stories that would saturate the airwaves? Can you imagine Fox News or any number of newspapers reporting about a school suspension for one of the victims or doctoring pictures in an attempt to make these victims less sympathetic? Can you imagine a person holding up a sign calling these victims “thugs” and “hoodlums.”Just think about the media frenzy, the concern from politicians, and the national horror every time a school shooting happens in Suburbia or every time a White woman goes missing...can you imagine if women routinely went missing from your community and the news and police department simply couldn't be bothered?

No, you can't. And you don't have to.

Woman purposely crashes into teens on go-cart

This is another crazy incident where in Texas some teens on go-cars where purposely hit into by a woman and she wasn't even arrested, while the teens sustained injuries.

“You don’t belong in this neighborhood!”

These are the words that Jules Moor, a 13-year old black child, says that Deanna Johnson, a middle-aged white female, said to him after Johnson slammed her 2011 Jeep Wrangler into his go-cart on Tuesday, March 13, 2012.

According to court documents obtained from Jules’ attorney, Sylvester Anderson, Jules went for a ride in his go-cart in his neighborhood with another 13-year old boy who had been spending spring break with the Moor family. A third minor boy, another friend of Jules’, rode a small bicycle behind the go-cart.

Jules saw two cars behind him while driving back home, so he decided to drive his go-cart completely off the road to his right onto the grassy edge of the neighborhood park to avoid being in the way of traffic.

It is then that Jules states that Johnson swung her vehicle across the south-bound lane of the road, ran over the curb onto the grass and deliberately and intentionally rammed her vehicle head-on into the go-cart.

According to Jules, Johnson got out of her vehicle and confronted the boys in a hostile and threatening manner yelling “Where do you live? Who are your parents?” while shaking her finger at the kids. Jules goes on to say, “With all due respect, Ma’am, I live down the street,” to which Johnson allegedly tells him that she didn’t care and that she was calling the police.

Jules called his mother and told her that Johnson had hit his go-cart and didn’t know why.

“He thought he was going to die,” said Theresa Moor, mother of Jules. “All I could do was stop what I was doing, grab my keys and make my way to my child.”

As Theresa arrived, she saw that the go-cart had been damaged severely and learned from Jules that Johnson had accused the boys of not living in the neighborhood. As Theresa approached Johnson to find out what happened, Johnson put her palm up to her face in a dismissive manner, refused to talk, went back to her truck and rolled up the windows.

Frustrated at the way things were transpiring, Theresa contacted the police and several Brazoria County Sheriff’s deputies arrived.

According to Theresa, she overheard Johnson claim that she was trying to “detain” the boys because they looked like some kids that they had seen earlier riding bicycles onto the driveways of houses in the neighborhood.

Jules and the other 13-year old boy in the go-cart sustained back and neck injuries as a result of the wreck. The boys had collars placed on their necks, were placed on stretchers and taken by ambulance to the emergency room of Southeast Memorial Hermann Hospital. They were treated and released, but Jules has since been diagnosed with PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) and is seeing a therapist regularly.

“My son is not the same,” says Theresa. “He doesn’t want to play outside anymore or leave the house alone. I just don’t know why she did this to my child.”

It is still unclear why Johnson decided to do what she did. Johnson never apologized for ramming her truck into the go-cart and jeopardizing the lives of the three children and according to witnesses, was seen laughing as she spoke with the Sheriff’s deputies.

Johnson was not arrested or drug-tested upon the admission of her actions. The Sheriff’s department Captain that came on the scene decided not to arrest Johnson upon consulting with the District Attorney.

Johnson has responded to the Moor family's claims via the following statement:

“As a mother of two children, I was concerned for the safety of these kids because they were driving their vehicle erratically and at high speeds through the neighborhood and also came dangerously close to a lake. When I saw them driving erratically for the second or third time that evening, I pulled my vehicle over and stopped” she wrote.

“They were still driving fast and because they had driven onto a grass area, when they hit the brakes to stop, they skidded and ran into my vehicle after I had stopped. This is about the safety of children and nothing more.”

Racist bumper sticker

A woman named Paula Smith, who was selling bumper stickers that said "Don't Re-Nig In 2012" on them, has now pulled them off her site but says they weren't racist.

Writing for Forbes, Roger Friedman interviews the site's owner, Paula Smith. Ms. Smith, who hails from Hinesville, Georgia, insists that neither she nor the sticker are racist.

"I do find it amazing and entertaining that one of our stickers has become a racist thing," Ms. Smith told Forbes.

Ms. Smith then goes on to argue that President Obama is "not even black," but rather, "a mixture of race." When Friedman asks Smith if she thinks the N-Word is offensive or derogatory, she says no, but then claims that she herself does not even use the word.

Umm lady, those bumper stickers are racist.

Members of the University of Southern Mississippi band chanted racist taunts at a hispanic Kansas State player during the schools' NCAA tournament game on Thursday.

After point guard Angel Rodriguez was fouled late in the first half of the second-round game, a few band members showered the freshman with cries of "where's your green card?"

Pittsburgh high school basketball game turns ugly

This is just horrible. A high school basketball game in Pittsburgh turns ugly, very ugly. Make sure to read the whole article, link is below.

Vile racism raised its ugly head during a boys basketball game near Pittsburgh on Friday when fans of a nearly all-white suburban school ran on the court in banana suits and made monkey noises to taunt the players for their rivals, who play for a school which is predominantly African-American.

...the annual basketball rivalry game between Pittsburgh (Pa.) Brentwood High and Monessen (Pa.) High turned extremely ugly when the two teams tried to head to their respective locker rooms for halftime. Before the players could leave the floor, three fans from the visiting Brentwood student section ran onto the court in full body banana suits.

The fans surrounded the Monessen players and allegedly began making monkey noises and hurling racial epithets at the Monessen players, with no one entering the fray to stop the horribly inappropriate catcalls from coming.

Meanwhile, Valley Independent staff writer Jeremy Sellew claimed that Brentwood Director of Security Joseph Kozarian, who was on duty at the game, refused to intervene, instead sitting back and at one point smiling and laughing with the Brentwood fans in the stands.

African-American male beaten up for dating white female teen

A sad story where a young African-American male teen was beaten up because he was dating a white female teen.

A 17-year-old African-American teen was beaten during a hate crime in Chicago in late December 2011, area police are now reporting. The victim, Joshua Merritt, a senior at Brother Rice High School, was attacked by three white teenage boys who attend the same institution. The assault was allegedly motivated by the black male youth starting a interracial relationship with the cousin of the youngest perpetrator.
